LITERATURES, ARTS AND CULTURES
The evolution of Literary Studies in the last decades has been characterised by the crossing of national borders, thus acquiring an international, transdisciplinary and transcultural character, in a path that has led to an important development of Comparative Studies. Comparative Literature has evolved since the second half of the 20th century to be the space par excellence of interrogation and reflection on the literary phenomenon and its multiple contaminations and crossings, in a transnational perspective and in relation with other artistic and cultural languages.
This has led to the development of different areas of specialisation within Comparative Studies, such as Translation Studies, Feminist Studies, Postcolonial Studies, Interarts, which pose new questions to the study of national literatures and the theory of literature itself.
The course is devoted to supervised research on the scientific areas of Comparative Literature, Cultural Sciences, Interarts and Theory of Literature leading to an innovative and original contribution to the progress of knowledge through the development of a research project and the writing and public discussion of a thesis
