Description

The Master's Degree Course in Spanish as a Second/Foreign Language (MELSLE) offers linguistic and didactic training in Spanish, aimed at professional practice in SFL and scientific initiation in this area. It is therefore aimed at Spanish teachers, professionals linked to Spanish for Specific Purposes (commercial, tourism or health) and students who wish to orientate themselves academically, scientifically or professionally in the field of SFL. The research dimension encourages the realisation of medium and long-term projects.
The syllabus includes ten subjects in the first two semesters, organised into blocks. Completion of the first two semesters confers the Specialisation Diploma. The optional subject "Internship/Project Work" takes place during the third and final semester and involves carrying out a professional internship or project work.
This is the first Master's programme in this field in Portugal to be taught in b-learning modality and it aims to broaden the possibilities for postgraduate training in Spanish, bringing together professional practice and training needs. In practical terms, the hours of contact are concentrated in a two-week period at the end of the second semester.
The teaching team is highly committed and very specialised in different dimensions, always focusing on teaching and research of foreign languages. The Master's degree programme has professors from various departments at the University of Minho, as well as guest lecturers from national and foreign institutions.
MELSLE also has an important network of partner institutions where students can carry out internships.
