The applications to courses leading to Doctoral degree are made electronically, with the need for pre-registration in the Academic Portal at https://alunos.uminho.pt/EN/candidates/doctorsdegrees/Pages/default.aspx

Required documents:

• Photocopy of identification document;
• Updated CV;
• Photocopy of the undergraduate degree certificate, listing the subjects completed and respective final marking;
• Photocopy of the master degree certificate, listing the subjects completed and respective final marking;
• A motivation letter;
• A work plan, including the objectives and expected schedule and starting date;
• Term of acceptance by the supervisors. Please note that, in accordance with the Academic Regulation of the University of Minho, at least one of the supervisors must have a contractual relationship with UMinho. If you don't know any ELACH Professors/researchers who could supervise your work, you should contact the Director of the Doctoral Degree to which you are applying;
• Other elements that the candidates may consider relevant for the appraisal of the application.

For the PhD in Sciences of Literature, the documents to be presented by the candidates are the following:

• Photocopy of identification document;
• Updated CV;
• Photocopy of the undergraduate degree certificate, listing the subjects completed and respective final marking;
• Photocopy of the master degree certificate, listing the subjects completed and respective final marking;
• A motivation letter;
• Two recommendation letters;
• A work plan containing the body of work, the objectives, the methodology, the bibliography (up to 30 titles), the timetable and the probable date for the beginning of the work;
• Term of acceptance by the supervisors;
• Other elements that the candidates may consider relevant for the appreciation of the application (optional).

NOTE: If deemed necessary, the Course Steering Committee may conduct an interview (in person or by videoconference).
