The School Calendar is an organizational instrument that establishes, in each academic year, the time periods corresponding to the teaching activities, as well as the breaks. The calendar provides 20 weeks for each semester, 15 of which are dedicated to teaching activities, regardless of their nature, and the remaining weeks to autonomous work activities and student assessment.
The School is responsible for defining the School Calendar for its study cycles, including the Exams Calendar. Final examinations take place at a time to be defined by the Pedagogical Council within the limits set by the school calendar. In periods reserved for that purpose, there is a Normal Season and a Special Season of Examinations for those students who, according to the Academic Regulations of the University of Minho, can access them.
