The University of Minho has accomodation available for students, in the Halls of Residence. These have 1389 beds, 847 of which are in Braga and 542 in Guimarães. Students who wish to be acommodated in the Braga or Guimarães Halls of Residence should fill in an Accomodation Form, which can be bought and handed in at the Student Support services, in the Accommodation department. Priority is given to students who have a SASUM scholarship and, among these, to those with greater financial difficulties.
The University of Minho also takes part in the "Avóspedagem" programme, which consists of providing accomodation for young university students with elderly residents in Braga, in exchange for a symbolic expenses payment.
